Arsenal youngster misses out on pre-season tour, removes all mention of Gunners on Instagram

Arsenal youngster has removed all mention of the club from his Instagram bio after being left out of the squad for the pre-season tour to the US.

Xavier Amaechi was not picked by Unai Emery for the US tour and will return to the Under-23 squad under Steve Bould.

Just last season, the 18-year-old Amaechi starred for Freddie Ljungberg's Under-23 side and was recently promoted to the first-team training.

Reiss Nelson, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Tyreece John-Jules made it to the pre-season tour - and it appears Amaechi hasn't taken the decision well.

According to reports from Germany, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Amaechi who has just one year left on his contract with Arsenal.

But the Gunners will be in a position to get a decent fee should anyone try and price Amaechi away from the Emirates.

In recent years, Arsenal have already lost promising talents such as Marcus McGuane and Chris Willock to signed for Barcelona and Benfica respectively.

It's not just in the youth ranks where the travelling party has hit the headlines, with Laurent Koscielny, the club captain refusing to travel.

The Frenchman is desperate to secure a move away from Arsenal this summer and was hoping the Gunners would come to a mutual agreement to allow him leave the north London for free following nine years of service.

With a year left on his current contract, Koscielny has offers on the table from his home country - one of which is a three-year contract with Bordeaux.
